Nurse clinics

Mote Park Veterinary Surgery offers a wide range of nurse clinics. This involves a 10 minute appointment with the nurse, usually between 11am and 4pm weekdays, and 10am to 12pm on Saturdays.

Below are some of the services provided by our nursing staff during the clinics;

Administration of flea and worm treatments

Some animals can be difficult to give flea and worming treatment to at home; therefore experienced nursing staff are available to administer tablets and spot-on treatments.

Nutritional advice and weight checks

If you are concerned your animal is under or over weight, nursing staff are available to advise you on diet and exercise and to monitor their progress.

Dental checks

Over a period of time, if an animals teeth are not regularly brushed, tartar can build up on their teeth. This often causes unpleasant smelling breath and discomfort for the animal when eating. Nursing staff are able to check your animals teeth and advise you on the methods of reducing the tartar build up. They can also advise clients regarding a descale and polish of the teeth under a general anaesthetic.

Clip claws

If your animal's nails are not maintained at a short length from regular walking on concrete or scratching, the nursing staff are available to safely clip their nails back to a more comfortable length.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that as nurses we are unable to diagnose any conditions that your pet may have, and we will refer you to a Veterinary Surgeon for this purpose. Whilst Nurse consultations are free, any involvement of a Veterinary Surgeon for diagnostic purposes will incur costs.
